Speculative Fiction Writer Brings Writer Expo to TCC Students: Urania Fung

The DFW Metroplex has many organizations available to support writers, but never before have the organizations appeared in one place. This expo will feature speakers, book signings, workshops, and critique services to help local writers experience the great variety of help available to them.

Representatives of the various organizations will be there to answer any questions attendees might have about how they operate. Some groups are program-based. They bring in speakers, such as editors, agents, and published authors to speak to their members. Others are critique based. There are many different styles of critique. Some critique groups read aloud. Some read silently before the meeting and discuss their critiques during the meeting. Some read silently during the meeting as well as critique during the meeting. Some don't meet and do all their critiquing online. Many groups, whether program-based for critique-based, host write-ins, especially during NaNoWriMo. By the end of the day, writers will have knowledge of where to go and who to ask when they want support for any part of their writing process.

This expo is scheduled for March 11, 2017 from 10 am to 4 pm at NSTU. For more information, please visit: https://www.wordwriters.org/events/.
